Vietnam’s largest FEC reaches maximum capacity in first month

Vietnam’s largest family entertainment centre, Helio Center, opened early February 2015 in Da Nang and has already experienced impressive attendance in their first month of operation. The 14,600 metre² facility, designed by US firm White Hutchinson Leisure and Learning Group, offers guests a variety of activities for all ages in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Included in the product mix is a Ballocity™ play structure, supplied by WhiteWater Attractions, which stands over 7 metres tall and offers three levels of exploration with a highly interactive ‘arena’ in the center.

White Hutchinson Leisure and Learning Group Chief Executive Randy White explains “we’re thrilled by the reaction to the center from the residents of Da Nang and our client.

“Although the centre aised its prices 30% for Tết, they still found themselves turning people away at different times when Helio Center reached maximum capacity.

The facility employs 600 staff and has the capacity for up to 4,000 guests to play and explore throughout the facility at one time.

WhiteWater Attractions President Doug Smith adds “the impressive centre offers hours of activities for guests of all ages with our Ballocity structure aiming to entertain kids 4 to 12 years old.

“Helio Center has brought a new level of entertainment to the region that provides something for the whole family.”

Helio Center prides itself on creating a friendly and comfortable environment for their guests and demonstrates this with the its name, Helio. Helio doesn’t have specific meaning in Vietnamese, but its close resemblance to the word ‘Hello’ when pronounced provides a warm greeting to guests.

WhiteWater Attractions offers a complete range of innovative products including harnessed attractions, interactive play structures and water rides. With master planning, custom design, manufacturing and theming services, WhiteWater Attractions creates complete amusement experiences for the whole family, from concept to completion.

WhiteWater Attractions is an evolution of WhiteWater’s two dry attractions companies: Hopkins Rides, and Prime Interactives (Formerly Prime Play). These two product categories make it possible for WhiteWater Attractions to create customised, unique and successful guest experiences.
