Wyndham wins at national ATHOC Awards

Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific has been honoured with four Australian Timeshare and Holiday Ownership Council (ATHOC) awards at the industry body’s annual conference.

The prestigious awards, held at Kingscliff in New South Wales, annually recognise the contribution of the exceptional talent employed in the timeshare and vacation ownership industry in Australia. This year, there were nine ATHOC Awards presented.

Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific’s Human Resources team was named the Corporate Team of the Year, while its Customer Experience team was given the Excellence in Customer Service award. The teams are based in Wyndham’s corporate offices on the Gold Coast, Singapore and Clark in the Philippines.

Wyndham President and Managing Director Barry Robinson was also appointed to the ATHOC Hall of Fame for his leadership and contribution to the industry, while Wyndham Resort Denarau Island in Fiji was honoured with the Resort of the Year award.

Senior Vice President of Human Resources Bruce Harkness said the awards haul was testament to the calibre of talent at every level of Wyndham, stating “we actively encourage our people to build themselves and their personal brands through the professional development opportunities we offer, and the results of their diligence are evident in our performance.

“The improvements to our onboarding process and employee experiences driven by the HR team this year will ensure we remain a leading workplace.

“At Wyndham, we have always been deliberate about developing the ethos that we are one team, so a win for one of our departments or individuals is a win for us all.”

The Excellence in Customer Service award is also an outstanding result for Wyndham’s Customer Experience team, which was only formed in 2015 with the arrival of Vice President of Customer Experience Adam Geneave.
