Victorian Government launches second round of popular dining and entertainment program

The Victorian Government’s popular Dining and Entertainment Program – Eat, Play, Cash Back is now live, saving Victorians money on restaurant meals, live gigs and museum visits over spring and summer while supporting associated businesses.

The Program, open from today, allows customers to claim 25% cash back when they spend $40 or more with eligible purchases including meals at restaurants, cafes and pubs, tickets to live music or art performances, and entries into museums, galleries and amusement parks.

Customers can claim up to $125 cash back each and make multiple claims until they reach the cap.

The first round of the Program was launched in March this year and saw more than $32 million claimed in three months, with Hai Dai Lao, Dumpling Alley and Shanghai Red the most popular dining venues.

Trips to the cinema and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Princess Theatre were the most popular entertainment choices.

Lux Foundry Owner Daniel Amato welcomes the return of the program and adds “there are many businesses that will benefit from this boost. The news is timely as we head into the school holidays, and we look forward to seeing more Victorians out enjoying a meal with their family and friends.”

The $25 million dollar Program is part of the Government’s $200 million Victorian Business Stimulus Package supporting local businesses and jobs and runs until 16th December 2022 or when funds are exhausted.

Victorian Minister for Industry Support and Recovery Ben Carroll notes “whether it’s booking a table for lunch or heading to a live music event, this cash-back program puts money back into people’s pockets and supports hardworking businesses across Victoria.”
