Vicsport partnership with AFL SportsReady creates more job opportunities

Vicsport’s new partnership with AFL SportsReady will benefit young Victorians through more career development opportunities via traineeships, cadetships, direct employment and education prospects.

An independent not-for-profit company, AFL SportsReady works across a number of industry sectors including, business, finance, education and sport and recreation and is also a leading education provider, offering courses ranging from Certificate level through to Diploma. Students who successfully complete programs are able to gain entry into degree qualifications, complete with course credit with a selection of Universities across Australia.

Their Indigenous Employment Program (Warumilang) also provides vocational traineeships and direct recruitment support to grow the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in businesses across the State.

Recently, AFL SportsReady launched The Centre for Athlete and Sports Education, which specialises in bespoke online education and professional development to meet the needs of sporting organisations, coaches and athletes across all sports.

Delivered in partnership with industry experts from different sports, the Centre provides innovative and impactful education and professional development programs that are delivered online to provide a rich educational experience that can be accessed from any location.

AFL SportsReady Chief Executive, James Montgomery notes “the sporting industry has been hit hard by COVID but we have some great opportunities to help organisations get back on track; and most importantly, get young people working and learning.
