Vicscreen presents inaugural international games market in Melbourne
Melbourne International Games Week commences next week, with 5th October marking the official opening of ‘Play Now Melbourne’ – the inaugural international games market which is set to become the pre-eminent trade gateway to the world of Australian games.
The market will be held at Melbourne's State Library of Victoria, with a total of 45 projects set to be showcased by game developers from across Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia and South Australia showcasing the creativity and innovation that Australian games are renowned for.
Some of the hottest digital game developers from across Australia will be delivering their original pitches to leading international publishers, platform holders and investors, with an impressive suite of major players joining the program.
Sony PlayStation, Devolver Digital, Massive Monster, Fellow Traveller, Ultra Players, Team 17, Raw Fury, Akupara Games and Shueisha Games have now joined Meta, Landfall Games and Kepler Interactive to search for the next big games to come out of Australia.
Presented by VicScreen, Victoria's creative and economic screen development agency, Play Now Melbourne enhances Victoria's reputation as a games powerhouse, home to beloved titles such as Cult of the Lamb, Kinder World and Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical.
