VersaClimber's versatility grows in popularity across the fitness industry
VersaClimber, the only full-body exerciser of its kind to actively engage all major muscle groups in one fluid, non-impact motion, is gaining massive popularity across the fitness industry.
Distributed across Australia by Melbourne-based BodyTastic, the VersaClimber can, according to BodyTastic Commercial Sales Manager Colleen Edwards "be used as Stepper or Total Body Climber essentially two cardio machines in one (making it) not only practical but also an efficient cardio machine."
Edwards explains "in the changing fitness landscape, over the last few years we have seen an explosion in high intensity interval training, Cross-Fit style training, functional training, group training, Mixed Martial Arts and combat training, all of which are aligned with the sprinting capabilities and explosive nature of the VersaClimber.
"(As a result) VersaClimber has become hot property with demand for VersaClimbers from personal trainers and their clients who are 'time conscious' also at an all-time high.
"Large format gyms are increasingly shifting towards the VersaClimber as their cardio equipment of choice because not only do you get the most 'bang for your buck' with a VersaClimber - you can place two VersaClimbers in the same amount of floor space needed for just one treadmill - but you also get a reliable, heavy duty piece of cardio equipment that is proven to stand the test of time in the harshest of gym environments."
Originating in the United States in 1981, the VersaClimber was developed as part of the training program of NASA astronauts to develop complete body strength and endurance, important in the muscle-wasting environment of weightlessness.
Since its inception it has been refined and improved for a new generation of health and fitness enthusiasts and has become the cardio machine of choice by some of the world's most elite athletes, including Caio Terra (BJJ World Champion), LeBron James (NBA) , Andy Murray (tennis) and Dan Henderson (MMA).
Bodytastic will be putting the VersaClimber's status as a leader in total body cardio vertical training at the upcoming 2014 Australian Fitness & Health Expo in Melbourne.
For the second year running, BodyTastic will staging the VersaClimber Challenge, backing Expo visitors to see 'How High Can You Climb in 60 Seconds', with the winner walking away with their very own VersaClimber.
Trials will be held over the first two days of the Expo with the finalists returning on the final day of the Expo to compete in a 'Climb-Off' on the Main Stage.
Edwards explains "last year's challenge was an overwhelming success, and we already have participants in training for this year's event."
The Australian Fitness & Health Expo acknowledges the interface between the growing martial arts sector and equipment providers at Expo, with Event Manager
Shaun Krenz adding "the rapid increase in the number of martial arts facilities has had a positive impact on the commercial equipment suppliers that cater for our industry.
"It's provided a healthy new vertical market for them to focus on and this has resulted in products like the Versa Climber positioning their offering directly at martial arts facilities."
The Australian & Health Expo will be held at the Melbourne Convention Centre from the 4th to 6th April 2014.
