US Swim School Leaders for 2011 ASCTA Convention

The Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA) has confirmed Jan Emler and Kendra Walker from the Emler Swim School in Texas, USA as the international keynote speakers for its 2011 Convention.

Emler and Walker's presence as part of the teaching stream and Swim Australia Conference follows the international keynote address by Bob and Kathy Hubbard from Phoenix, USA at the 2010 Convention.

Emler and Walker operate seven swim schools in the Dallas, Fort Worth and Austin areas of Texas. Jan a charter member of the US Swim School Association (USSSA), has served on the Board of Directors three times, was the recipient of the USSSA Guiding Light Award in 2001 for leadership among swim school owners and was inducted into the USSSA Hall of Fame at the USSSA Conference in Las Vegas in October. A frequent speaker at aquatic education conferences, Jan also licenses 12 additional swim schools throughout the USA to use her Swim Script, swim lesson curriculum.

Jan's presentations at two previous ASCTA Conventions received the highest possible feedback.

Kendra is well known in the USSSA and frequently sought after for her advice and opinions about new business systems. She derives great satisfaction in learning from other swim programs and sharing Emler Swim School procedures with USSSA and ASCA swim schools.

Jan and Kendra will be involved in a total of five presentations at the 2011 Convention addressing topics including infants to staffing at their Swim Schools.

The ASCTA Convention 2011 program will be released in early January and delegate will, for the first time this year, be able to register for the event online.

Coaching Swimmers With a Disability Extension Course: 18th May

Workplace Training Course (TAE40110): 18th May
Swim Australia Teacher of Babies & Toddlers Course / Workshop: 20th May (this event is separate to the ASCTA Convention and must be registered for through ASCTA's accreditation division.
