Upgraded Lovegrove Sports Pavilion opens for Western Australia Pinjarra community
The $3.8 million Lovegrove Sports Pavilion was officially opened on 27th June with the new pavilion to benefit over 550 local cricket and hockey club senior and junior members - and with women's changerooms it will be able to increase women's participation in cricket and hockey sports.
The $3.8 million facility includes a multi-function room, commercial kitchen, changerooms, equipment stores and a wraparound veranda, and was partially funded by the Western Australian Government through a $524,000 Lotterywest grant and $750,000 from the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund. Other funding was provided through the Commonwealth Government, Alcoa, Cricket Australia and the Shire of Murray.
Western Australian Sport and Recreation Minister, David Templeman noted "It gives me great pleasure to know that the State Government has contributed to this facility to help future generations of athletes in this region.
"And we're committed to ensuring the right facilities, programs and events are in place in regional areas so that everyone has the opportunity to participate in sport and recreation activities."
