Up to $50,000 available for new community-led trail projects in Western Australia.

The Western Australian Government is offering grants of up to $50,000 for new community-led trail projects in Western Australia with the grant program supporting projects involving snorkelling, bushwalking, cycling, horse riding, trail running, mountain biking and more.

Through the Community Trail Planning Grants Program, nature enthusiasts, adventure seekers and lovers of the WA landscape can bring to life ideas for new trail experiences with financial support totalling $900,000 available over the next three years.

Grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 will be awarded to projects that demonstrate best practice in community consultation, inclusivity, sustainability and Aboriginal engagement, in line with the Government's WA Strategic Trails Blueprint 2022–2027. This blueprint guides future planning and development of trails across WA.

Eligible local governments, community organisations and active recreation clubs and associations are encouraged to apply for funding under the program, which is administered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC).
