Universal Studios Japan’s new Harry Potter attraction draws record visitors in August

The operators of Universal Studios Japan in Osaka have announced that visitor numbers reached 1.33 million in August, the highest monthly figure ever.

USJ Co said visitor numbers were boosted the theme park’s new Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction, exceeding the previous record of1.32 million from August 2001, the park's opening yea.

USJ Co added that income in August also rose to an all-time high of about 16 billion yen.

The new Harry Potter attraction was opened on 15th July, helping push up the number of visitors in July to a record for the month of 870,000.
