UFS covers new Queensland Tennis Centre

Universal Fabric Structures (UFS) has been awarded the contract to design, engineer and construct two architectural membrane structures to cover the two outdoor show courts at the new Queensland State Tennis Centre (QSTC). Developed by Mirvac and located in the Brisbane suburb of Tennyson, the QSTC will be the first purpose built facility in Australia to feature all three 'grand slam' surfaces - grass, clay and acrylic.

The overall shape and design of the UFS structure is in harmony with the main stadium roof while meeting the client's brief. In addition to the design and construction of the outside show courts UFS were awarded the contract to construct 21 pergolas for the exterior training courts, bringing the total value of the contract to approximately $1,330,000.

Australasian Leisure Management will be featuring the Queensland State Tennis Centre in an upcoming issue.
