Trusts Arena named New Zealand’s Supreme Venue of the Year

Auckland venue the Trusts Arena has been named New Zealand's 'Supreme Venue of the Year' at the 2015 Entertainment Venues Association of New Zealand (EVANZ) Venue Awards, with Vbase Event Planning and Delivery Manager Kylie Young named Supreme Venue Person of the Year.

The Trusts Arena was also named Ticketmaster Large Venue of the Year at the Awards, presented on the evening of Tuesday 1st December during the EVANZ annual conference in Christchurch.

Young (pictured below) also received the Priava Rising Star Award, with Priava sponsoring her attendance at the 2016 Venue Management School on Queensland's Gold Coast. 

Commenting on the Trust Arena's recognition, Chief Executive Brian Blake explained "we are incredibly of our whole team in winning this award.

"As one of the busiest facilities in New Zealand the long hours of work in the middle of the night and early mornings often goes unrewarded.

"This team works incredibly hard to deliver a wide array of sports and events to our community and to be recognised as the best in our industry is incredibly humbling and rewarding."  

Winners in the 11 award categories, in the order presented, were: 

• Tompkins Wake Excellence in Customer Service - Vbase, Christchurch 
• iTICKET Excellence in Innovation Award - H3 Group, Hamilton 
• HPA Excellence in Host Responsibility Award - Eden Park, Auckland 
• Eventfinda Small Venue of the Year Award - Air Force Museum, Christchurch 
• Prestige Loos Medium Venue of the Year - Bruce Mason Centre, Auckland 
• Ticketmaster Large Venue of the Year - Trusts Arena, Auckland 
• Ticketek Venue Executive of the Year - Nigel Skelt, General Manager, Stadium Southland, Invercargill
• EVANZ Operations Manager of the Year - Paul Marquardt, Venue Catering Manager, Eden Park, Auckland 
• Priava Rising Star of the Year Award - Kylie Young, Vbase, Christchurch 
• TicketDirect Supreme Venue of the Year - Trusts Arena, Auckland
• EVANZ Supreme Venue Person of the Year - Kylie Young, Vbase, Christchurch
