triple j's One Night Stand in Dubbo

triple j's One Night Stand series is all about bringing the big live concert experience to regional towns that miss out on big live music events.

The latest event, held in Dubbo last Saturday (13th April), attracted 18,000 music fans, along with hundreds of thousands more listening live on the radio, and for the first time live on TV, making it the biggest One Night Stand yet.

In an innovative first for the ABC, triple j not only broadcast the concert live on ABC2 but also provided a second screen experience, giving viewers unprecedented access to backstage at the event. The entire concert was also broadcast live around the country on triple j radio, accompanied by videos, blogs and photo galleries on the triple j website and social media.

The concert opened with local Dubbo band and winner of the ABC's 'Unearthed' competition, Peoples Palace, who played to a thrilled home crowd and thousands of new fans later saying that playing at the One Night Stand was a dream of theirs after going to the Cowra One Night Stand in 2007.

Other acts included Seth Sentry; The Rubens, who cemented their reputation as one of Australia's best live bands; and, ahead of his national tour, Flume debuted his mysterious 'Infinity Prism' and impressive light show.

Over the coming weeks triple j will replay the performances on Live At The Wireless.
