Tourism for Tomorrow Awards Finalists Announced

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has revealed the 15 finalists for its 2015 Tourism for Tomorrow Awards.

With categories covering destination stewardship, community benefit, environmental management, workforce development and innovation, and a rigorous judging process, these Awards provide the highest accolade for sustainability in the global tourism industry.

The Awards aim to transform the Travel & Tourism industry, based upon sustainable tourism principles, by educating and inspiring travel & tourism businesses and destinations about how to improve the sustainability of the sector.

Applications were received from 57 countries across all continents while winners will be officially announced during the Awards Ceremony taking place in Madrid, Spain on 15th April 2015 during WTTC’s Global Summit.

Finalist - Grootbos Nature Reserve, South Africa
Finalist - Reality Tours and Travel, India

Destination Award
Finalist - Ljubljana, Slovenia
Finalist - Northeast and Yilan Coast, Taiwan
Finalist - Sozopol, Bulgaria

Environment Award
Finalist - Laguna Lodge Eco-Resort & Nature Reserve, Guatemala
Finalist - Rivers Fiji, Fiji
Finalist - The Soneva Group, Maldives and Thailand

Innovation Award
Finalist - ABTA Welfare Guidance for Animals in Tourism, UK
Finalist - Red Sustainable Travel, Mexico
Finalist - TripAdvisor GreenLeaders, USA

People Award
Finalist - Confortel Hoteles, Spain
Finalist - Global Travel and Tourism Partnership, USA
Finalist - Mountain Shepherds Initiative, India
