Tokyo Disney announces record 15.7 million visitation
Tokyo Disney has announced that a total of 15.74 million people visited Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea from April through to September this year. This record high for the six-month period for the second year in a row, was helped by the 10-day Golden Week holiday and new attractions, Oriental Land Co. and Soaring: Fantastic Flight.
The extra-long Golden Week from late April through early May, created to celebrate the imperial succession, contributed to the 1.4% increase from a year before.
Tokyo Disney advised that the new record was supported by Soaring: Fantastic Flight, a flight motion simulator attraction that debuted at DisneySea in July, and special seasonal events at the two resorts, such as Disney Easter.
Based on the popular attraction, Soarin’ Around the World, which has been enjoyed by guests visiting the Disney parks outside of Japan, the attraction at Tokyo DisneySea features new scenes and visuals for an experience exclusive to the Park in Japan.
Soaring: Fantastic Flight is a flight motion-simulator attraction that takes guests on a journey over famous landscapes of the world, while they experience the breezes and scents that match the various scenes. Guests of all ages can experience this attraction.
