Ticketmaster reveals music acts it expects to breakthrough in Australia and New Zealand in 2024

Ticketmaster Australia & New Zealand has revealed the 10 breakthrough music acts that it thinks will dominate the live scene in 2024.

Celebrating exceptional local talent, the hand-picked selection embodies Ticketmaster’s commitment to supporting home-grown artists. These are the hottest artists, bands and singer-songwriters set to make waves on stages worldwide this year.

The list tops off with Polynesian-Australian powerhouse RISSA who calls her music ‘untainted soul’ which is a fair approximation of what it sounds like to hear her, and her amazing backing singers take to the stage.

Coterie a ‘Kiwi-Aussie’ band of brothers, landed themselves on loads of festival bills across the country in 2023. Their intoxicating live shows seamlessly mix indie-rock and reggae - reaching fever pitch over the summer season, the world’s truly their oyster in the coming 12 months.

The thundercat-like rhythmic and harmonic acrobatics of Melbourne-based Emma Volard has caught our attention this year. And on a similar wavelength, known for his improvisatory style and ruthless guerrilla approach to music-making, xmunashe is likely to become a huge deal in 2024 and has quickly stolen our hearts.

New Zealand’s Mohi Allen charmed the pants off us as part of a country showcase at this year’s South By Southwest while Mr Rhodes and his electrifying live show which comes with a live band, sits somewhere between James Murphy and Kendrick Lamar.

"Angular, shouty and charmingly fresh", as described by Ticketmaste, Radio Free Alice is undeniably in for an incredible year with the group’s name on everyone’s lips. And with a fixture on triple j Unearthed in 2023 and picking up tour support from Boy and Bear to Soccer Mommy and Methyl Ethel, the next twelve months are set to be just as hyped for FELIVAND.

Lismore’s Liminal takes up one of the last spots on the list, with the four-piece that is both young and talented and it’s only a matter of time before they become the next big thing.

Finally, Finnoguns Wake, the newest project from ex-Royal Headache frontman who has teamed up with Finn Berzin, rounds out the 2024 list.

Breakthrough list is part of a Ticketmaster New Music campaign celebrating and sharing the hottest emerging artists to thousands of fans on Ticketmaster Australia & New Zealand channels.
