Ticket sales rise for the 2011 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix
Ticket sales for the 2011 IVECO Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix have shown strong growth from last year.
Grandstands and corporate facilities are almost at capacity while VIP Hospitality is looking likely to sell out with the Champions Club, Red Line and High Octane facilities all at capacity.
Limited seats are still available in Pit Roof but they are moving quickly.
Similarly, grandstands are selling fast with Bass, Lukey Heights, Gardner and Siberia stands all sold out. There are still some spaces in the undercover Gardner Straight Grandstand and plenty of fantastic General Admission viewing options available as well as campsites for overnight accommodation right next to the track.
Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) Chief Executive Andrew Westacott is delighted with how sales and final preparations are tracking, stating "Phillip Island is certainly living up to its reputation as one of the most spectacular and picturesque circuits on the MotoGP calendar. The weather is on our side and of course Casey Stoner is set for what could potentially be the ride that seals the 2011 MotoGP World Championship.
"The stage is certainly set for an incredible weekend."
An estimated crowd of 22,200 lapped up a glorious day of racing and entertainment on a Phillip Island track bathed in sunshine for day one of the event.
The event has a free official iPhone app available on iTunes.
The application gives users access to a full schedule of on and off-track activities, an interactive map, news, rider profiles, event information, photos and results from all the events at the 2011 IVECO Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
The 2011 IVECO Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix is being held at Victoria's Phillip Island from 14th to 16th October.
