Thousands Flock to Universal Studios Singapore's Madagascar
Thousands have flocked to Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa to experience its newly-opened ride, Madagascar: A Crate Adventure.
The nine-minute ride, one of the longest rides in Universal Studios Singapore - promises to be a blast for riders, that takes guests on a river boat adventure with movie characters Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo.
Inspired by the highly-successful DreamWorks AnimationMadagascar film series, the ride took nearly three years to conceptualise and create. The ride is the first of its kind based on the Madagascar franchise.
Introducing the ride, Resorts World Sentosa Chief Executive Tan Hee Teck explains that "we sought to translate the worldwide appeal of the Madagascar movies into this attraction and I believe we succeeded. It is an exhilarating ride with fantastic sets and a terrific storyline. This attraction can be enjoyed by the whole family, from Grandma to Little Tot.''
Universal Studios Singapore (USS) Vice President of Park Operations John Hallenbeck states "the nice thing about Madagascar: A Crate Adventure is that it really is a ride that's available for three generations - from kids to adults to grandparents. Everyone can ride it, so it's a great addition to Universal Studios Singapore."
USS Executive Designer Kevin Barbee adds "water rides are the most difficult attractions to create because water is fluid and unpredictable, whereas roller coasters and other mechanical type rides are easy to engineer."
Universal Studios Singapore has six attractions based on DreamWorks Animation films, spread across two zones -Madagascar and Far Far Away - and are complemented by more than 10 themed dining and shopping outlets.
With this new launch, park officials are now planning the grand opening of Universal Studios Singapore on 28th May.
