Third Year Fitness Biz Expands

Active Management's FitnessBiz 2010 seminars are set to enter a third year of providing fitness industry business owners with practical sessions on how to market their business successfully.

This year the tour has been expanded to include Canberra, providing industry insights to business owners in the nation's capital, as well as visiting every State capital in Australia - making FitnessBiz the only fitness business road show in Australia.

The theme of FitnessBiz 2010 is being a connected business, offering owners advice on how to connect their business for profitability and increased participation.

Justin Tamsett, owner of Active Management and a leading keynote presenter in the fitness industry, has created FitnessBiz as a way to take his messages and insights to a large gathering of business owners to help them maintain grow and provide the best service to their members.

As Tamsett (pictured) explains "running a gym or health club is tricky business to balance.

"As well as staffing, equipment and overheads to manage, owners have to keep their marketing and promotional ideas as fresh as possible to keep the level of interest up for their members and prospects.

"Maintaining a fitness program requires commitment and effort from the members and running a fitness business al requires similar commitment and effort."

Tamsett is an active social media participant and believes "there are so many new options in social media marketing that have emerged in the last six months that offer significant benefits and options to gyms. Four Square and Facebook's new 'Places' could help solve retention. These weren't something that people had thought of six months ago.

"This year's FitnessBiz focuses on how business owners can make the most of these new tools to bring people together and will remind people them of some of our true and tested tools."
