Thieves return to remove more copper wire from floodlights at Shoalhaven AFL field

Following the recent theft of copper wiring from floodlights and illuminators at the Thompson Street Complex, Sussex Inlet Sports Field and Vincentia Sports field last month, Shoalhaven Council has advised that West Ulladulla Sports Park’s AFL field has also been targeted by thieves.

Only three of the eight light towers were working following the theft of a large amount of copper wiring with tools located in the pits. The sports park’s electricals have been isolated and Police are investigating the incident, alongside the previous thefts at the other sports fields in the region, which occurred a week prior.

The Council issued a statement advising "Shoalhaven City would like to remind residents to keep an eye out on our sports fields and to contact (NSW) Police if they see anything suspicious."

The community is also being encouraged to come forward with any information relating to the previous attacks by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
