Theatre Kimberley receives funding for stage and circus equipment and volunteer toolkit
The Western Australian Government has presented a $69,060 Lotterywest grant to the spectacular Theatre Kimberley to help with purchasing new circus and stage equipment so Theatre Kimberley can continue to build thriving, creative, connected regional communities.
It will also go towards the delivery of workshops and performances, development of a volunteer toolkit, and corporate governance training.
For more than 25 years the beloved Theatre Kimberley has created high-quality arts opportunities with and for Kimberley communities, including performing arts outreach programs and the popular Sandfly Circus classes for students in kindy to year 12.
This latest Lotterywest grant brings its total amount in State Government funding to more than $278,000 since January 2021.
The organisation is supported annually through the Regional Arts Sector Investment Program, receiving $150,000 funding over 2.5 years. Earlier this month it also received a $59,999 grant through the Arts 15k-plus grant program.
WA Culture and Arts Minister David Templeman advised "this will help the organisation with its important work of connecting the local community, developing leadership skills and confidence, supporting positive mental health outcomes, and encouraging a sense of belonging."
