The Trail Collective spotlights input into Stromlo Reach Pump Track
Adelaide-based, The Trail Collective, specialists in BMX trail design, construction and planning, have spotlighted their work on a design project for Spiire Property Consultants courtesy of Capital Estate Developments in the new Denman Prospect in Canberra, ACT, Australia.
The Stromlo Reach Pump Track & Snake Run design has been incorporated into a steep hill on the northern side of the site (snake run area). The pump track is at the lower side of the hill and the facility is designed and intended for beginner and intermediate users. Both the pump track and snake run will be surfaced with asphalt for longevity. The snake run starts from a platform on the hill and winds it way down to the pump track with the inclusion of interesting features throughout this area.
The Trail Collective designed this pump track with inspiration from the aboriginal artist Wally Bell. You will see water holes connected by running water artwork across the mogul and dimple features within the pump track. Unlike traditional pump tracks, this pump track has been designed to have transitions all over it, making for a unique ‘choose your own adventure’ style pump track. You can ride everything and the user can choose their own line at leisure.
The snake run offers the opportunity for users to have a run around the pump track and carry on via a return pathway back to the top of the hill, ready for another run.
The Trail Collective are keen to create other spaces in local communities. Go to www.thetrailcollective.com.au and get in touch.
