The Goddard Group working on resorts and theme parks across Asia
California-based Gary Goddard and his company, The Goddard Group, world leaders in the concept, master planning, schematic design, and show design of mega resorts, casinos, retail destinations and theme parks, on a global scale, having opened more projects over the last decade than any other entertainment design firm in the world.
Upcoming Asian projects from The Goddard Group include:
Qingdao Theme Park and Resort, China
On the northeast coast of China, the Goddard Group is currently at work designing a new oceanfront family entertainment resort in Qingdao that will ultimately feature over two-dozen ocean-themed rides and attractions, in addition to on-site hotel facilities, as well as expansive retail, dining, and entertainment components.
Fushun DreamWorld Theme Park, Hotel & Resort, China
Currently under-construction in Fushun, China, is a massive theme park designed and developed by the Goddard Group over a nearly three year period, featuring six lands and over 20 attractions based on the world's most beloved stories and genres.
Shenfu New Town, China
Also under construction near Fushun, China, is Shenfu New Town- an entire city designed and master planned by the Goddard Group in concert with the local government and development agencies. Wrapped around two massive lakes, at the heart of the city is the "Circle of Life" ï¾ a 100-meter stainless steel ring that serves as the city's icon.
Earlier this year, The Goddard Group completed its work on behalf of the Galaxy Macau Mega-Resort. The work began in 2006 when The Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) selected Goddard to help re-imagine their Mega Resort (the family's company's biggest venture yet).
The US$ 1.9 billion casino-resort, which opened to the public in Macau, China in May has received instant critical and popular acclaim.
Aesthetically, Galaxy World Mega Resort Macau, on the Cotai strip, is unique, thanks to the Southeast Asian palace theme of its architectural design.
As Galaxy's Vice President of Design and Project Development Mikki Estrada explains "we drew our inspirations from all over Southeast Asia. The main color themeoutside and inside the complex is gold, which both chimes in with regional tastes and helps create a very palatial atmosphere. The actual design of Galaxy Macau was developed by Los Angeles-based architectural designer Gary Goddard and his team at The Goddard Group, who specialize in the design and production of large-scale theme parks and international hotel-resorts."
Goddard explains that "our goal was to create an inspired and fantastic world that would be appealing first and foremost, to the Asian guests who come to Macau from all areas of Southeast Asia.
"Secondly, for the western tourists who come to Macau, we wanted a very special resort casino that can only be seen here in Macau and that speaks to an Asian experience. So The Galaxy is not a copy of something from Las Vegas or elsewhere, but an original ' must see' experience that stands alone and apart. I think we have achieved our goal with this spectacular and elegant design ï¾ a true tropical paradise built upon a mythical world steeped in Asian spirit."
Today, Gary Goddard and his team are quite possibly one of the most successful designers of mega resort and themed entertainment projects in the world. If you've ever been to New York's Times Square, Las Vegas, Tokyo, Sydney, Cape Town, Jakarta, Hollywood, Shanghai or the Philippines, chances are you've personally experienced one of the themed entertainment attractions, hotels, resorts, aquariums, retail outlets or visitor centers designed and produced by Gary Goddard and The Goddard Group.
Since 1980, Gary Goddard has created many of the greatest attractions in the world, first through Gary Goddard Productions, which became Landmark Entertainment Group, and then after selling 50% of the company to Prince Alwaleed and Michael Jackson, leaving La
