The Entertainment Grounds to explore big name talent for the Central Coast
Hot on the heels of hosting its hugely successful Summer Racing Carnival, the team at The Entertainment Grounds are currently exploring opportunities to attract more recognised acts to the Central Coast.
With more than 10,000 people attending events and race days at the venue over December and January, Gosford Rac Club Chief Executive James Heddo is keen to continue building on momentum and moving forward in a similar vein.
Heddo explained “the Board acknowledged the need to explore other entertainment options to attract a broad market.
“Whilst our racing calendar remains front and centre, we are looking to replicate the success of the concerts that have really put the Hunter Valley on the map as an entertainment hub.
"If the Hunter can attract the kind of entertainment that people want to see, then I fail to see why we can't generate the same level of support for home grown and international talent at The Entertainment Grounds.
"Our inaugural festival event, Rock’n the Coast, which saw rock legends the Hoodoo Gurus and Mental As Anything thrill locals, has proven that entertainment in our venue is viable and the community is certainly asking for it.
"This is about more than just The Entertainment Grounds, we see the return to the whole of the Coast in terms of spin off benefits to accommodation and restaurants being huge, plus, our proximity to Sydney undoubtedly makes this an attractive option to Sydneysiders seeking a weekend away.”
The Entertainment Grounds will be hosting the Coastal Blues event on Saturday 21st March and Solid Gold – featuring 10 acts from the 70s, 80s and 90s – on Saturday 18th April.
