Relaunched Gosford Entertainment Grounds introduce new Admission Control System from Gunnebo

Relaunched this week, The Entertainment Grounds (the former Gosford Race Club) on the NSW Central Coast has undergone a $4.8million redevelopment of its Members Grandstand and surrounding spectator precinct.

The Club’s move to be known as The Entertainment Grounds marks a substantial shift for the organisation, from its focus on horse racing to a broader vision to be the home of events for the region - accommodating everything from weddings and smaller functions to large scale events, expos, concerts and festivals.

The rebranded venue is also implementing QuikScan, an all-new ‘one-stop’ admission control system from Gunnebo, that provides integration with the major ticketing providers for large events and allows venues to print tickets on-site for smaller events.

The Entertainment Grounds Chief Financial Officer Daniel Lacey explains “our vision is to become the leading events centre in our region.

“To do that we needed a complete Admission Control System that supports small and large events alike.

“Gunnebo introduced us to their new Admission system, QuikScan. QuikScan allows quick and efficient front gate control and is very easy to use.”

QuikScan by Gunnebo is a ‘one-stop’ admission control system providing integration with the major ticketing providers for large events and allows venues to print tickets on-site for smaller events.

It also offers member card printing.

With QuikScan all ticket information is instantly recorded and can be scanned at the gate.

Gunnebo Australia General Manager- Entrance Control Laurie Mugridge states “our QuikScan software and patron admission devices are customised to your requirements.

“Functionality that was once only available for the larger venues is now available for everyone.

“We have developed a system that is fast, user friendly and now at a price point that is attractive to the smaller venues. Our R&D worked closely with Denso who invented the QR code to ensure we could provide extremely fast processing of 2D barcodes whilst still being able to scan traditional barcodes, ensuring a fast and smooth transition through the gates for all patrons.”

Patron validation is a key benefit to the new QuikScan system with the capability to display patron types on external screens.

The ability to view live attendance information via a web portal is a key feature that The Entertainment Grounds is keen to use for their upcoming events over the coming busy Christmas period.

Mugridge adds “we believe we are providing the perfect solution for all entertainment venues.

“This introduction is also timely as we can now work closely with venues that are refurbishing for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in 2018.”
