The Club Group wins Canberra facility contracts

The Club Group Management (TCGM), a division of The Club Group, has secured the ACT Government contract to manage the Lakeside Leisure Centre and the Canberra Olympic Pool.

Explaining The Club Group's successful bid, Managing Director Harry Konstantinou stated "we are very excited to expand our extensive experience in managing our own facilities - 12 facilities - into now managing ACT Government owned facilities."

The Lakeside and Canberra Olympic Pool facilities are key public infrastructure and provide a valuable resource for the ACT Community and surrounds.

Both facilities have an indoor 50 metre pool, health club facilities and are rich in culture and history. The Canberra Olympic Pool was built in 1955 during the lead-up to the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, and was one of very few centres in the country developed with three pools (a 50 metre main pool, dive pool and toddlers' pool).

TCGM was established to provide first class operational management for government and private sector in the areas of leisure, fitness and construction and boasts one of the largest and most diverse workforce in its field. The company has also been the winner of won countless awards..

With the recent appointment of TCGM's Chief Operating Officer Peter Georgiou, the company is well placed to manage such facilities.
Georgiou arrived at TCGM with over 20 years of contract management and transition experience in Federal and State Government and explains "The Club Group looks forward to working with Government to ensure all members of the community continue to have the opportunity to access and enjoy these facilities."

The contract to manage the the Lakeside Leisure Centre and the Canberra Olympic Pool is due to commence on 1 July 2012.

The Club Group (TCG) is the largest health and fitness provider in the Canberra region. The business has 12 Clubs in operation, and in excess of 500 staff currently employed.

Its key brand is Club Lime (mixed gender health clubs), but it also trades under the brands Club Pink (ladies only health club), Club Blue (aquatic facilities), Club Swim (swim school) and Club MMM Day Spa (day spa and hydrotherapy services).
