Thailand delivers visitor experiences for smart phones
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has introduced 'Lifestyle Thailand', a new smart phone application which highlights eight unique tourism experiences in the kingdom.
TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing of Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas Juthaporn Rerngronasa says that the application highlights 20-50% discounts in 300 selected attractions, restaurants and accommodation outlets each carefully selected for their unique characters and qualities that suit the lifestyles and demands of target groups.
According to Juthaporn, the main target groups are international and local tourists, particularly the savvy smart phone users who can download the Lifestyle Thailand application free of charge on the App Store or Android Market.
She explains "we are confident that this project will help attract more visitors into Thailand and generate more revenue for tourism establishments and operators in the country."
The 'Lifestyle Thailand' mobile application has 8 travel experiences features, including Chic, Romantic, Breezy, Thainess, Adventure, Wellness, Easy 'n' Slow and Family.
The Chic option is designed for the trendy generation in search for shopping experiences, nightlife activities and personalized services such as personal fashion stylists, hands-free shopping, private limousines and jets.
The Romantic selection lists perfect destinations for couples. Beach and adventure lovers can check out the Breezy and Adventure collections, respectively.
The Health conscious tourists can opt for the Wellness range while devotees of Thai traditions can visit the Thainess section.
The Easy 'n' Slow is a perfect fit for travellers looking for a quiet place amid the lush nature of Thailand while a wide range of family-orientated activities and locations are listed generously in the Family section.
The 'Lifestyle Thailand' application will be updated every month with information of selected tourism products including accommodation, restaurants and attractions and things to do lists, as well as hot deals and discounts. Tourists can get discounts and hot deals by showing the application to participating hotels, resorts, restaurants, shopping malls and attractions.
The application also has a special feature that does the functions of a 360° Visual Tour, which means it allows tourists to virtually experience the highlights of each tourism site in 360°.
Tourists can also create trips and search routes via Google Map and use interactive maps to share tourism site information through Facebook and Twitter.
