Technogym helps clubs grab members' attention
Leading fitness equipment supplier Technogym has launched Visioweb, an interactive display for its Excite+ cardiovascular equipment.
Visioweb lets equipment users browse the web, update their Facebook and Twitter accounts and/or manage the contents of their iPod, iPhone or other multimedia USB device, all while training.
Through more intense workouts, such as high-speed running on a treadmill, users can watch TV, read more about their exercises or discover the latest news about their facility.
Technogym research indicates that the average fitness club member spends at least 20 minutes exercising on indiviual cardio equipment unit. Technogym sees this time as not only being valuable in terms of exercise, but also as time in which clubs can communicate with their members.
The Communicator software supplied with Visioweb has the ability to replace notice boards full of leaflets that no-one has time to read while providing an opportunity for operators to interact with and learn about their customers' needs and interests in order to transform this training time into a business opportunity.
The Communicator software enable club staff to quickly create and send messages, promotions and surveys, manage class programs as well as receive direct feedback from clients.
The Communicator software can compose messages, create surveys, publish class schedules and promotions which can then be sent to appear on every Visioweb screen in the club.
Visioweb also lets club owners decide which sites they want to include as their web Favourites.
When the equipment isn't being used, the screen can host an image or play a tailor-made video to promote the facility, a TV channel or display a striking website logo.
For clients and members, Visioweb enables them to:
Browse the internet
The Web application lets users connect to the internet to access your favourite social media sites, new or check emails.
Watch TV
With a choice of 200 digital and analogue TV channels, Visioweb also supports IPTV (Internet Protocol television), a system through which high-quality TV and radio services are delivered via broadband internet connection.
Listen to the Radio and Game
During less demanding training sessions, clicking this button provides access to 100 digital and analogue radio stations as well as several games, including Backgammon and Solitaire.
Use iPhone or iPod
Via a special dock users can connect their iPod or iPhone for charging, listening to music, watching videos or recording their training on their Nike+ Gym App, without having to use the shoe sensor.
For existing Technogym Excite+ cardio machines, the LED display can be replaced with Visioweb.
Visioweb is also available on the Run Personal Visioweb. home treadmill.
