Tasmanian gym owner Stacey Aldous named a finalist in 2021 AusMumpreneur Awards

Stacey Aldous, owner of the Freedom Health and Wellness in New Norfolk Tasmania and a past FILEX presenter, has been named as a finalist for the 2021 AusMumpreneur Awards in the Health Business and People’s Choice (Making a Difference - Health & Wellbeing) categories.

The AusMumpreneur Awards presented by The Women’s Business School celebrate and recognise Australian mothers in business achieving outstanding success in areas such as business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation.

The awards are designed to recognise the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.

For over a decade, Aldous has put the health and wellness of her community at the forefront of her business, study, and daily life.

A community fitness centre in Tasmania’s Derwent Valley, Freedom Health and Wellness welcomes  members from the ages of five to 85 years in improving their physical and mental health, be inspired, supported and motivated.

Aldous attributes the success of the business to additional learnings through evidence-based study (she is currently completing a Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology), attending and presenting at fitness conferences and having a fabulous team of trainers who love the business as much as she does.

Delighted to be named as a finalist and proud of the positive influence Freedom has on the physical and mental health of the ‘Freedom Crew’ and the wider community, Aldous explains “every day I get the opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives, and I love it.

“From kids to older adults, our team have created a space for everyone to be supported and inspired to be the best version of themselves.

“I am devoted to our community (and) I truly care about every member we have.

“I also love that I have been able to mentor other local 2021 AusMumpreneur Awards mums to become fitness professionals and join our amazing team of trainers.”

With AusMumpreneur acknowledged that it can be challenging to be a successful businesswoman while raising a family, Aldous gives this advice for others thinking about starting their own enterprise, commenting “start small and build slowly, work hard to put together a great team and make sure they know they are appreciated, don’t get blindsided by the ‘bells and whistles’, stay on task and most importantly, have fun.”

The winners of the 2021 AusMumpreneur Awards will be announced at an online event in September.

Voting for the AusMumpreneur People’s Choice awards is now open and ends on Friday 27th August.
