Taronga Conservation Society wins NSW sustainable tourism award
Taronga Conservation Society Australia (TCSA) has been awarded Banksia Foundation’s NSW Net Zero Action Award.
The Net Zero Action Award, presented to TCSA, aims to celebrate organisations driving net zero action through the embodiment of a comprehensive sustainability approach within their organisation. This award honours those showcasing transparency and urgency, investing towards a net zero future. It recognises emission reduction across defined scopes, resource conservation and waste management.
With this award, TCSA's ongoing sustainability journey is recognised; a journey which has already acquired global recognition with the organisation co-leading a Decarbonisation Guide for 1,300 zoos around the world.
Even with 60 running conservation projects, two zoo and wildlife hospitals, five accommodation venues and a world-renowned Institute of Science & Learning, TCSA's focus remains on conservation, education and sustainability, making it the rightful recipient of the 2024 NSW Net Zero Action Award.
