Taronga Conservation Society appoints new marketing director
Taronga Conservation Society Australia has announced the appointment of Karen Madden as its Director of Marketing, Communications and Fundraising.
Commenting on her new role, Madden who has worked in senior marketing roles at Woolworths, Coles and News Corp, and most recently as Group Marketing Director of Nine Entertainment, stated “I’m thrilled to join the passionate team at Taronga.
“In what has been a challenging year for all businesses, Taronga has strengthened its commitment to the conservation of wildlife both locally and around the world. This is in conjunction with the work Taronga has done during the recent devastating bushfire season to care for wildlife.
“The recent successful launch of the African Savannah at Taronga Sydney and the growth of Taronga TV further enables Taronga to deliver on its vision of creating a shared future for wildlife and people.”
Madden (pictured) replaces Libby Hodgson in the role.
Announcing Madden’s appointment, Taronga Chief Executive, Cameron Kerr stated “this appointment has come at a critical time for Taronga and we look forward to the wealth and depth of experience Karen can bring to this role, particularly as we navigate the complexities of managing a tourism-based business in the current environment.”
The Taronga Conservation Society is a NSW Government agency responsible for Taronga Zoo Sydney and the Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
