Sydney Showground team named best in the business

The Sydney Showground was a big winner at this week's Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia's (EEAA) Annual Awards for Excellence, taking out one of the evening's most sought after titles ï¾ Best Venue Team.
Presented by Australia and New Zealand's peak event and exhibition industry association, the award recognises the outstanding role the Sydney Showground team plays in facilitating more than 400 exhibitions, conferences, festivals, launches and events each year.
Run by the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) of NSW, Chief Executive Peter King said the Sydney Showground team is thrilled to be recognised for the hard work and dedication to the service of our clients.
King explained "Sydney Showground is a unique venue and its reputation has been built by a world class team who have delivered some of Australia's most iconic and unusual events. Our team demonstrates real passion for the events industry and are committed to delivering outstanding results for our clients."
Over the past twelve years, the 130 staff members have staged in excess of 4,800 events which have played host to a staggering 11 million plus patrons, enabling the team to develop the right skills and knowledge to provide clients with event management expertise that is second to none.
The EEAA award for Best Venue Team compliments another prestigious award won Sydney Showground just months ago - Best Venue at the 2011 Australian Event Awards.
King added "we believe our clients are dealing with some of the most professional and experienced venue staff in the business. We consider the relationship with our clients to be a true partnership.

It's been a busy and successful year for Sydney Showground, hosting events including two Big Day Out concerts, the Amway China Incentive, Stereosonic, Equitana Sydney, the Sydney Telstra 500 V8 Supercar race and Australia's largest ever trade show, the mining industry's AIMEX 2011, which spread over 11 venues and more than 50,000 metres2 of exhibition space, along with the largest event in the Southern Hemisphere ï¾ the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
