Sydney Olympic Park gears up for massive day of events

Sydney Olympic Park is preparing for a diverse and busy day of major events on Saturday 28th November, with Taylor Swift, Stereosonic, 2015 AUS X Open and the Australian Short Course Championships all being held at venues in the suburb.

More than 150,000 people are expected within the Park during the day and with infrastructure for the V8 Supercars event next weekend (4th to 6th December) in place, motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Lanes will open early at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre for the Australian Short Course Championships, where future Olympians will battle it out day and night for the Australian National Champion title.

Electro-music fans will be able to dance to the genre’s greatest artists at the Stereosonic festival at the Sydney Showground.

Engines of the world’s biggest names in Supercross will rev up from 6.30pm at the 2015 AUS X Open at Allphones Arena.

At ANZ Stadium, pop music superstar Taylor Swift will grace the stage with her sold out Sydney show, part of her ‘1989’ World Tour.

Event ticketholders are urged to leave their cars at home and take public transport to events, while also being encouraged to arrive early.

Extra train and bus services will operate to accommodate event ticket-holders, and those who choose to drive despite advice should pre-book their car parking and consider car-pooling.

This has been particularly emphasised for parents attending the Taylor Swift concert with their children.

The day will also see more than 30 cafés, restaurants and bars operating extended hours right across the day and into the evening at Sydney Olympic Park.
