Swimming Australia reveals women’s health partnership with City Fertility

Swimming Australia has announced a sponsorship link with Australia’s leading in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and fertility service groups, City Fertility, as an official partner of the governing body.

The innovative new partnership will see City Fertility work directly with Swimming Australia and its athletes to further the awareness, education and knowledge of best practice women’s health initiatives and their importance within the high performance environment.

Stating that the partnership marks a significant step forward for the sport, Swimming Australia Chief Executive, Eugénie Buckley advised “the health and wellbeing of our athletes remains our highest priority and that must extend beyond their time in the pool as we work to ensure they are positioned for a happy and healthy life after swimming.

“Partnering with City Fertility empowers us to both learn from, and collaborate with global leaders in this space, driving change for our athletes now and into the future.”

“There are great synergies between our two brands, particularly the shared culture of research, innovation and technology, and we are excited to see this partnership grow and the benefits it will bring for our broader swimming family.”

The partnership will not only see City Fertility collaborate on the development of content and educational resources, as well as a research project, it will also provide direct access to services for Swimming Australia athletes and staff.

City Fertility currently has 12 clinics around Australia, with over 70 consulting rooms and more than 60 fertility specialists nationwide.

City Fertility Chief Executive and Scientific Director, Adnan Catakovic, said the partnership was the perfect fit, adding “as one of the country’s leading fertility groups, the team at City Fertility prides itself on excellence. We see this partnership with Swimming Australia as an opportunity to not only educate but positively contribute to our elite athletes at every stage of their lives.

“Understanding the female physiology is crucial when it comes to fertility, we have access to the latest research and look forward to sharing that with the Swimming Australia team.”
