Super Heroes join Movie World record attempt
Gold Coast theme park Warner Bros. Movie World kicked off a global event on Saturday wherein fans of DC Comics’ characters were invited to visit the attraction dressed as their favourite DC Comics Super Hero.
Part of a bid by Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) and DC Entertainment (DCE) to set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as DC Comics Super Heroes, Warner Bros. Movie World was the first participating attraction to join in the event, which was held at multiple venues around the world within 24 hours (on 18th April).
In the 24-hour period, thousands of fans gathered around the globe to participate in the DC Comics Super Hero World Record Event by donning their favorite costumes inspired by a pantheon of Super Heroes, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Batgirl, Supergirl, Aquaman, Cyborg, Robin, Green Arrow and many more.
Along with Movie World locations participating in the event included Manila, Philippines; Kaohsiung, Taiwan; Madrid, Spain; Rome, Italy; London, Birmingham, Warrington and Cardiff in the UK; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Paris, France; ‘Smallville’, USA (Plano, Illinois) and Mexico City, Mexico.
Having achieved the record, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, President Brad Globe stated “thanks to all the fans of DC Comics Super Heroes around the world who joined us to set a world record - a record that celebrates the power and appeal of these iconic characters.”
