Sunshine Aquarium reopens in Tokyo

Following a year of renovations, Tokyo's Sunshine Aquarium has reopened.
Located on the 10th floor of the Sunshine City complex in Tokyo suburb of Ikebukuro, Tokyo, the Sunshine City Aquarium, Planetarium and Observatory offers a range of stunning aquatic exhibits including a tank holding 120 tons of water into which a diver drops to feed the fish every hour on the half hour. The attraction also offers seal shows and displays the huge, deep water spider crabs from Izu Bay.
Largely unaffected by the Japanese earthquake of 12th March, the Sunshine City complex includes a large assortment of restaurants while, during the summer school holidays, the Sunshine International Aquarium holds overnight adventure tours for pairs of primary school students and their parents. Features include visits to private areas of the aquarium, feeding fish, and touching marine creatures.
