Summit to Address Entertainment Industry Pay Confusion
JuliusMedia is hosting a free industry summit to address what it describes as "pay confusion" in the entertainment industry.
The summit, to be held from 1pm to 3pm on Wednesday 10th March, is being held at JuliusMedia Campus at 10 Bridge Street, Rydalmere, NSW.
The event will discuss the new Modern Awards and how they are being applied in the entertainment industry.
A statement from JuliusMedia said "everyone is now under an award; technicians, floor crew, musicians, TV crew, film crew, retail staff, warehouse workers. Absolutely everyone. And the Modern Awards arrived on 1st January, so we are already exposed.
"Suddenly, everyone working behind the scenes in entertainment or the supply lines is covered by a national minimum award but the confusion factor for employers is high."
JuliusMedia invite anyone affected to this industry summit, where the Award and its implications will be discussed. The Summit will be hosted by Julius Grafton, and discuss issues of concern along with suggested solutions.
These include:
⢠Who is affected
⢠How to employee juniors
⢠How to employee Trainees
⢠Contractors: Covered or not?
⢠How not to face an industrial claim
⢠What the pay scales are
⢠Fair Work Fines!
⢠How to define 'Levels' according to skills or experience
⢠Whether the new three hour call will survive current lobbying
⢠Attendees input and experiences experiences
Please RSVP by 9th March to attend.
