Star Trac enhances the Workout Experience with Nike + iPod

Star Trac, the fastest-growing, privately-owned commercial fitness company, has announced plans to deliver the Nike + iPod experience on its entire E Series product line of cardio equipment including treadmills, steppers, total body trainers, recumbent and upright bikes. To be introduced during 2008, the innovation will see Star Trac fitness equipment users be able to take advantage of the innovative Nike + iPod experience to monitor their fitness program progress and motivate them in their efforts to live an active, healthy lifestyle.
With Nike + iPod compatible equipment, Star Trac cardio users will simply plug their iPod nano into the equipment at the beginning of their workout to automatically record their progress. After their workout, they can then connect their iPod to their personal computer and upload their workout data to nikeplus.com.
"Star Trac is pleased to be a part of the introduction of the Nike + iPod experience into the commercial fitness market," said Randy Bergstedt, Star Trac Vice President of Marketing. "Star Trac is committed to enhancing exercise experiences for our users and Nike + iPod compatibility brings a new level of excitement to the cardio arena to keep people motivated and successful with their exercise programs."
Nike's innovative Nike + iPod running experience combining music, personal coaching and fitness networking has changed the way people run, creating in its first year, the world's largest online running destination at nikeplus.com. Launched just under two years ago, in partnership with Apple, Nike + lets your iPod nano talk to Nike + enabled running shoes through the wireless Nike + iPod Sport Kit. Data on time, distance, calories burned and pace is stored onto user's nano and is easily downloaded through iTunes to nikeplus.com. Nikeplus.com users not only can track their own data, but also challenge others and participate in online forums.
