SportsEye Network makes key appointment to support growth

Fast-growing and award-winning data and technology company ActiveXchange has announced the appointment of Robert Novotny as its Head of Partnerships.

Novotny’s appointment will allow James Ellender, ActiveXchange’s Chief Executive, to further focus on managing the collective impact of the organisation across Australia and New Zealand, and signals the exciting next phase of partnering-up with its clients across the SportsEye Network.

With Novotny appointed following an extensive recruitment process, Ellender advised “I’m thrilled to have someone of Robert’s calibre take our partnerships forward as we continue to foster an informed, connected and empowered Network.”

Novotny joins the team with a strong background as Managing Director of Champions International, building extensive relationships for over 15 years with club, state and national sporting bodies across Australia and New Zealand.

For their member athletes, such partnerships have created high performance training and placement opportunities across North America and Asia.

Prior to that, the Chicago, USA-native worked for MLB’s White Sox to partner with local communities across the American Midwest to develop one of the largest youth grassroots sporting outreaches in the United States at the time, with the program later being adopted by the NBA’s Chicago Bulls. Novotny also served as the vice president of the American Women’s Baseball Federation.

Based in Melbourne, Novotny (pictured) will drive ActiveXchange’s outreach in the wake of COVID-19. It is a period when evidence-based decision making to increase efficiency will be that much more important amidst the uncertainties of recent times. ActiveXchange will continue to lead the way with its data and technology platform to truly enable sport, government, operators and our strategic consultant partners to make the right decisions, at the right time, underpinned by evidence.

Welcoming his new role, Novotny noted “I am honoured to be the inaugural person taking on this role and to be positioned to build partnerships that will positively affect health and well-being for so many members of communities far and wide.

“It is very meaningful to be able to empower other committed people working in the sector to more effectively make a difference for their members, community and partners. I’m also excited to be working with a team at ActiveXchange that is truly unique, and very passionately focused on leaving a legacy of change in how our sector is understood, valued and funded.”
