Sportradar secures ATP data and betting streaming rights
The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and sporting data specialist Sportradar have agreed a six-year partnership covering betting data and streaming rights.
Set to replace the ATP’s current partner IMG Arena, after the tour reportedly exercised an opt-out clause in the six-year contract signed in 2020, Sportradar won the contract, which will commence in 2024, ahead of four other bidders.
The process for the six-year rights negotiation was led by Tennis Data Innovations (TDI), the joint venture between the ATP and ATP Media that oversees data and betting streaming products for ATP Tour and Challenger Tour men’s tennis circuits
Sportradar was already a supplier of official ATP Tour and Challenger Tour secondary data feeds since the start of 2022. This latest deal adds to the company’s partnership portfolio that includes the National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB) and the National Hockey League (NHL), as well as UEFA competitions and Germany’s Bundesliga.
Welcoming expanded link, Sportradar Chief Executive, Carsten Koerl stated “the capabilities and global scale of our offerings will provide betting operators innovative, best-in-class products and tech savvy tennis fans a richer, more immersive experience that only Sportradar can deliver.
“Our expertise in developing advanced technologies, including computer vision and AI which create advanced analytics and data visualisation, will drive new, compelling ways for fans to engage with tennis, while also safeguarding and upholding its integrity.”
With tennis one of the most bet-on sports in the world, Sportradar will aim to deliver data feeds that maximise value for the ATP’s betting partners as the market continues to expand globally.
