Sport Facility Management and the Environment

The MSAC Institute of Training will be holding a seminar on Sport Facility Management and the Environment to showcase new environmental initiatives to assist managers in being resource smart at their facilities.
To be held on 2nd September, the Sports Facility Management and the Environment seminar will welcome a panel of experts including representatives from Sustainability Victoria, Total Energy Solutions, The Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance and representatives from the State Sport Centres Trust.
Speakers will discuss their learning successes and failures, giving fellow professionals initiatives to take back and implement in their own facilities. Topics to be discussed will include; the challenges and pitfalls of facility design and initiatives learnt from the Melbourne Sports Hub, how to be resource smart at your facility, and greener government buildings. This will incorporate the concepts of environmental management, energy and water saving techniques, contract management and recycling.

The afternoon will feature a structured workshop style session beforeculminating in an evening networking function overlooking the State Sport Centres Trust's Melbourne Sports Hub.

The seminar will also include site tours of the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre and the Lakeside Stadium Football and Athletics Facility, the newest edition to Melbourne's sporting infrastructure

The social event will provide a chance for past and present delegates to share success stories about environmental initiatives which have been implemented throughout Australian leisure facilities and gain some practical tools from industry experts to take away and apply in the future.
