SPASA announces 2016 Awards of Excellence winners
The 2016 Swimming Pool and Spa Association of Australia Awards of Excellence have celebrated the best of aquatic industry construction and design.
Presented at a gala event at Jupiter’s Casino on the Gold Coast on 18th August 2016, the annual awards acknowledge the best, boldest and most creative in the swimming pool and spa industry.
State winners from across the country competed for Australia’s top prize of national winner, with close to 200 entries across 40 categories and attended by the leaders of the industry,
This year saw an increase in awards highlighting the diverse aspects of the pool and spa industry including sustainability, innovation and landscaping, in addition to the wide range of building categories. Retail and Service award categories also increased in number from previous years, with creativity and innovation at the forefront of this growing sector.
Donna Harvey from Poolside Shoalhaven, recipient of the gold award for Retail Salesperson of the Year, stated “it is extremely humbling to receive such a prestigious award as a store which opened just three years ago.”
Poolside Shoalhaven also walked away with two national gold awards for Store of the Year and the coveted Retailer of the Year.
Harvey added “attitude is everything, as is consistent improvement and wanting to be the best you can possibly be, while loving your customers to the point they want to visit as friends because they trust you.”
SPASA Australia Chief Executive Lindsay McGrath commented “we are very fortunate ... to have our professional association members striving to achieve better performance year on year.
“Creativity and innovation sets a new benchmark each year with 2016 national winners challenging the industry to deliver better results in building and manufacturing techniques, and innovative and sustainable products with superior customer service.”
A new standard was set this year with the winner of the Gold Award for Pool of the Year, presented to Chris Jackson.
Supplier of the Year went to Zodiac Australia and Spa of the Year went to Enkipools with the judges impressed with this courtyard retreat and sculptural masterpiece.
