South Australian library commended for architectural design

With an emphasis on blurring indoor and outdoor spaces and a natural flow of movement throughout, The Parks Library and Community Centre in the City of Port Adelaide and Enfield, designed by JPE Design Studio, was recently awarded two Commendations for both Public Architecture and Sustainable Architecture at the 2019 SA Architecture Awards.

The building includes the library, arrival area, customer service space, administration building, community function centre, kitchen, meeting rooms, a makerspace, amenities and a central community garden that brings it all together.

It is a great example of collaboration between the City of Port Adelaide and Enfield , the design team and the community. Parks Library embodies JPE’s and the City of Port Adelaide and Enfield’s inherent approach to sustainability that is both environmental and social.
