Social Media changing the game for gyms and Personal Trainers

Social media is the cheapest and one of the most effective marketing strategies any gym or Personal Trainer can adopt according to Marketing for Gyms and PT's.

Marketing for Gyms and PT's Director Sean Bridger believes that, with Australians spending a huge amount of time online on websites such as Facebook and Youtube, it is crucial for gyms and Personal Trainers to have a professional presence.

Bridger explains "sometimes the fitness industry can be a little slow to catch on to the latest marketing trends with many businesses choosing to stick with traditional methods such as letter box drops, newspaper advertisements and the yellow pages.

"(However), savvy business owners are now waking up to the incredible power of social media and they are reaping the rewards as a result."

Bridger adds that social media marketing isn't that hard once businesses understand a few key concepts, stating "the first step is understanding what you need to do.

"(Then), step 2 is having the tools and resources to make that happen (and) that's where we come in.

"Our custom fan pages provide not only lead capture functionality but also a viral referral marketing application (and) the best part is, it's extremely affordable."

Bridger sees that gyms and Personal trainers can utilise the power of social media in order to increase membership numbers.

With a host of big name clients such as the Australian Institute of Fitness, Plus fitness, Healthy Inspirations, Impact Training and the YMCA, Marketing for Gyms and PT's have developed what they believe to be the most cutting edge social media marketing formula in the industry.

Marketing for Gyms and PT's use a combination of custom built facebook fan pages alongside their online training to not only help educate their clients but create a tangible results based marketing system.

Bridger sees that Facebook is the perfect marketing platform for gyms and PTs as it can be used to keep in touch with clients but more importantly, be used as a way for current members to refer their friends to your gym or personal training studio.

He adds "our refer a friend application is probably the most powerful tool we implement with our clients. Providing an incentive for members to share your page with their facebook friends and email contacts is the key.

"Our clients that are utilising their custom Facebook fan pages and social media marketing strategies are seeing a constant flow of leads every month, that's what gives us the most satisfaction."
