Snow delays construction work at Selwyn Resort
The principal contractor undertaking the rebuilding of the Selwyn Snow Resort has advised that, due to unprecedented recent snowfalls, they will be unable to complete the project by the scheduled 2nd July.
Devasted by the bushfires of January 2022, a media release from the Selwyn Snow Resort management describes a set of “challenging circumstances” that have been “unprecedented” in completing the rebuilding project.
These have included record rainfalls across November and December, material supply shortage and the Covid state-wide lockdown along with more than 100cm of snowfall over the past week impeding access to the site.
The media releases “guests who have purchased products from Selwyn Snow Resort will be refunded in full, in the coming weeks” adding “rebuilding Selwyn Snow Resort remains our top priority and our teams and contractors will continue to work hard to complete the project.
“We know that this is devastating news for our guests, employees and local communities, and want you to know that we share this sadness with you and look forward to a fresh start in 2023.
