Skills Active announces recipient of their Exercise Scholarship
Skills Active have awarded Braidon Fletcher the Skills Active Exercise Scholarship to enrol in the New Zealand Certificate in Exercise (Level 4), which is designed to be completed by trainees who are employed in fitness industry workplaces.
Fletcher was presented with his scholarship by learning support advisor Tam Hickey, and industry engagement advisor Nathan Waitai.
Fletcher was head boy of Birkenhead College, and when he finished school, he spent time in the United States, attending a community college and coaching football for youth aged 5 to 12 years.
Being equally passionate about sport and fitness, with interests ranging from yoga, food and nutrition, through to the mental dynamics of sport and exercise, Fletcher is now keen to build a career in exercise.
Fletcher explains “exercise has always been an outlet for me in expressing myself, and I feel happiest when I am playing sports or in an exercise facility.”
He will complete his qualification with the support of his employer, KC Fit in Auckland.
As with previous Exercise Scholarship winner Briana Herlihy, Skills Active will follow Fletcher’s progress in his qualification.
