Skilled Park Opens
Completed in early February, the new stadium attracted 22,000 locals to an open day on 17th February before hosting the Gold Coast Titans' opening home game of the 2008 NRL season, against North Queensland Cowboys, on Friday 14th March. The sellout 26,974 crowd for that game was more than the stadium's planned 25,000 seat capacity - workers on the site having found extra space for about 2,000 seats in the stadium while construction was making progress!
Skilled Stadium will be reviewed in the May/June 2008 issue of Australasian Leisure Management.
