Singapore conference to address mass sport and recreation participation across Asia

This December, Singapore will play host to some of the brightest minds in involved mass sport and recreation participation across Asia.

Presented by the region’s leading event management and experiential marketing company Spectrum Worldwide, the inaugural Mass Participation Asia Conference 2015 will line up a list of regional and international experts, including keynote speaker, Olympic Silver medallist Steve Cram .

The two-day conference, set for 3rd and 4th December at the Conrad Centennial Hotel, will feature panel discussions, debates and presentations on the operational and commercial aspects of this fast growing industry.

Cram will open up the session and bring with him his experience as a competitor and TV presenter, as well as an organiser of mass participation events in Europe. Other topics on the table include the increasingly important role of big data, content creation and the use of social media, as well as designing the best course for an event, risk assessment and management, sponsorships and partnerships, IP protection and the use of public relations to drive engagement and manage crises.

Other industry experts such as Chris Robb, Chief Executive and founder of Spectrum Worldwide, owner and organiser of Cycle Asia; Greg Hooton, Vice President of IMG Events, which organises The Color Run; Adrian Mok, Director of HiVelocity that organises the Sundown Marathon; and Sean Davidson, Head of Marketing & Communications of Tata Consultancy Services Asia Pacific; will also share their experiences in the industry and weigh in on what it takes to run a successful and resilient mass participation event in Asia. Shoto Zhu, Founder and Chief Executive of Ocean Sports, will provide insights into the growth of the industry in China.

Introducing the event, Robb stated “the growing success of the mass participation industry in Asia has been accompanied by a rising set of challenges.

“We believe this conference will give participants from all areas of the industry the opportunity to gain further insight and equip them with the knowledge necessary to combat these challenges.

“We also hope it will provide a platform to help facilitate collaboration and drive best practice across the industry.”

The Mass Participation Asia Conference 2015 also offers participants the chance to experience Singapore’s premier marathon event ‘live’.

The Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2015, also organised by Spectrum Worldwide, is happening over the two days after the event, on 5th and 6th December.

Package deals are available for those keen on getting a behind-the-scenes look at the marathon after the conference.
