Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre to host wellbeing expo
Shoalhaven City Council is hosting the 2022 Shoalhaven Health and Wellbeing Expo on Wednesday 22nd June at the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre.
The Expo is a free one-day event that enhances awareness, and knowledge, of mental and physical wellbeing to support a healthier and happier Shoalhaven Community.
Key topics include, mental health at work, healthy eating, physical activity, alcohol consumption, road safety awareness, creating a safe workplace for young workers and preventing poor behaviour towards workers.
The free Expo will feature keynote speaker Paralympian Ben Houlison and a variety of stalls representing clubs and organisations such as Headspace Nowra. The St. George Illawarra Dragons will also be in attendance promoting their “Best You Can Be” programme.
Visitors can watch the live demonstrations throughout the day, join in on healthy cooking and mindfulness classes and get advice on the simple steps you can take to enjoy a healthier and more active lifestyle.
Shoalhaven City Council Deputy Mayor Liza Butler notes “The Expo is a fantastic way for businesses, employees and community members learn more about health and wellbeing in a fun and positive way.
“Everyone is welcome to attend. I encourage you to come along with friends and family and join in on the activities and demonstrations designed to encourage a healthier lifestyle for our community.”
The Expo is funded by NSW Government and supported by Council’s media partners Power FM and 2ST.
The Expo is being held on Wednesday 22nd June at the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre, 90 Cambewarra Road, Bomaderry, from 10am - 3:30pm.
