Search for new Perth Stadium's biggest fans

Western Australian sports fans will have the chance to be directly involved in the development of the new Perth Stadium, with the Western Australian Government calling for 30 interested community members to join a sports fans' group.
Western Australian Premier Colin Barnett and Sport and Recreation Minister Terry Waldron opened nominations this week, stating "as the Government has said all along, the new Perth Stadium will be a world-class venue built with a 'fan first' philosophy.
"Close consultation with sports fans will be crucial to delivering on that commitment and producing a world-class sporting facility for all West Australians."
Members of the sports fans' group will have the opportunity to provide feedback on proposed design elements of the stadium and the effect of these on the fan experience.
Minister Waldron said this was a unique and exciting opportunity for passionate fans of AFL, cricket, rugby league, rugby union and soccer to represent the views of fans of these sports, adding "from day one, planning for the new Perth Stadium has been focused on getting input from a wide range of stakeholders, and I am excited about this opportunity to partner with the prospective fans who will be using the stadium."
The announcement comes as planning continues on the new Perth Stadium, with three companies shortlisted for pre-construction site works.
A successful tenderer is expected to be announced in April.
To apply to join the sports fans' group, members of the public can visit the new Perth Stadium website and submit an entry of up to 50 words outlining how they would contribute to improving the 'fan experience' at the venue.
Entries close on 29th January, with successful applicants to be announced in February.
